The Politics Show is an hour long BBC One television political programme broadcast in the United Kingdom on Sundays. The programme usually starts at midday, but is often earlier or later when sporting events clash in the schedules. When it launched in 2003, it was presented by Jeremy Vine. It contains reports on the big political stories of the week as well as analysing the way these stories will affect people all over the country. It also features interviews with senior politicians about current issues. The programme is now usually presented by BBC News presenter Jon Sopel, who replaced Vine in September 2005.
At 12:00pm, the programme features a short summary of the main news headlines from the national news studio, and at 12:30pm there is a twenty minute (one hour in Scotland) opt-out looking into how political stories affect the local area.
